Ideal for those new to keto--as well as those on the program who want fast and easy meal options--this hearty collection provides a useful primer on everything from weight loss tips and stocking the kitchen (replacing pasta with kelp noodles and whole milk with plant-based options) to keto-friendly sweeteners (such as monk fruit) and weekly meal plans. As an added plus, she organizes meals into 11 categories--and divides main dishes by their proteins--making it simple to find recipes that work with whatever's on hand. From almond-flour biscuits and gravy to herbed flatbread made with pork rinds, modified versions of carb-laden favorites abound. Also included are a wealth of soups, sides, and entrées including seafood options such as a crispy pan-fried sea bass and crab imperial. Marcaurele's creative genius, however, shows in her appetizing array of desserts; her chocolate lava cakes, key lime tarts, and quick tiramisu trifle alone make this collection superior to other carb-light offerings.
